Sweet and Spicy Glazed Fried Chicken Legs Recipe

These glazed sweet and spicy fried chicken legs are ideal for a weekend dinner. Chicken legs are coated in a flavorful flour mixture before being dipped in a buttermilk mixture and fried until crispy and golden brown. The honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and chilli flakes in the glaze give the chicken a perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavors.

Instructions

  • Combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the buttermilk and hot sauce.
  • Each chicken leg should be dipped in the flour mixture, then the buttermilk mixture, and then back in the flour mixture.
  • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the chicken legs for about 10 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Combine honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and chilli flakes in a saucepan.
  • Cook, stirring occasionally, over medium heat until the mixture thickens and reduces by half, about 10 minutes.
  • Serve with the glaze over the chicken legs.
