Beer Can Barbecue Chicken Recipe

Instructions

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high.
  • Remove and discard the chicken's giblets and neck.
  • Rub olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika on the chicken.
  • Pour about 1/4 cup of beer from the can.
  • Lower the chicken onto the beer can, so that the can is inside the chicken's cavity.
  • Cover the grill and place the chicken, standing up on the can, on the grates.
  • Grill the chicken for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Brush the barbecue sauce all over the chicken during the last 15 minutes of cooking.
  • Remove the chicken from the grill and set aside for 10 minutes to rest.
  • Remove the beer can from the chicken with care and discard it.
  • Carve and serve the chicken.
