Gangjeong Fried Chicken Recipe

Gangjeong Fried Chicken is a popular Korean dish that consists of coating chicken wings in a crispy potato and cornflour mixture before tossing them in a sweet and savoury sauce made with soy sauce, honey, garlic and ginger. For added texture and flavor, the dish is finished with crushed peanuts and chopped green onions.

Instructions

  • Chicken wings should be washed and dried.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine potato starch, cornstarch, salt and black pepper.
  • Coat the chicken wings with the cornflour mixture.
  • In a wok or deep frying pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the chicken wings in the hot oil for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the chicken wings from the oil and drain them on paper towels.
  • Heat Gangjeong sauce in a separate pan over medium heat until thickened.
  • Toss the fried chicken wings in the pan with the thickened sauce to coat.
  • Garnish with crushed peanuts and green onions, if desired.
  • Serve immediately.
